Presidents and kings address nations through words. Teachers/professors instruct students by words. Doctors prescribe medicines by words. Bosses share goals, visions, and/or purposes through words. Military leaders issue orders by words. Sales people use words to convince consumers to buy. Without words there would be no newscasts, sportscasts, or forecasts.
